We had a lovely stay at Oaks Nelson Bay Lure Suites with our 18-month-old. The receptionist was good, and the comfy bed and air conditioning provided great comfort. While the shower pressure was low, the supplied bath essentials were appreciated after beach outings. With shops and the wharf within walking distance plus stunning nearby beaches, it was an excellent family getaway.

Although my room was on the lower floors, making it difficult to see the bay, it still offered a cozy retreat with just the essentials—just a bed and TV.
One minor drawback was the size of the toilet/shower area, which felt a bit cramped. Despite this, the overall experience was pleasant, and I appreciated the balance between functionality and comfort.

The rooms here are bright and have a TV with a DVD player, a kettle, and even a comfy couch that can turn into a bed. 📺 Plus, this place is super conveniently located, close to plenty of places to grab a bite to eat. 🍽️

A nice and amazing hotel with pleasant employees with a grumpy receptionist. Favourable location handy to cafes etc, easy to get anywhere. Based close enough to Nelson bay harbour and dining areas as well as shops, Marina, Cinema, Restaurants.
Wi-Fi was bad.

I like the facility of the this apartment. Easy access to undercover parking, and secured card access only available to the level you stay. I enjoy the privacy I have there, very quiet. Very clean in the room, and they have full range of kitchen ware. I have been given clear instruction together with my welcome letter when I checked in. It was very useful. Close to town centre and coles, walking distance for all sorts of shopping. Close to docks as well, you can leave your car at its car park and walk to docks and watch whale, awesome!
Internet does not work there, I mean the cable line. I called reception regarding that, I have the answer as "cable is not with us, can't send anyone to fix for you." Internet rate too high, although I was not able to use it. No view as per advertised. All I can see it's the fence of my "backyard", which was next to a busy road. TV was aged, I think they should equip some lcd or led TV. False fire alarm at 12 midnight, waked me up from sweet dream. Pillows are too high, I had backache when I woke up.

A very good way to end my trip. Amazing property, fairly clean, outstanding service and reasonable value. Light filled & functional unit with 2 single beds. Early check-in and late check-out, incredibly welcoming staff. Roomy bar area.

It was centrally located to main town of Nelson Bay however, be careful when walking at night as street isn't well lit and footpaths are currently unmade. It provided a good view of the water (but you need to request this otherwise you may be on the opposite side to the water).
We discovered at night that our room didn't have block out curtains in the main bedroom and when requested I was met with hesitation from staff as to why we would want them? Staff asked me "Is it because you want to run around in the nude!" I explained that we would like some privacy at night and to be able to sleep in and not be woken by the sunlight at 6am. I was offered another room only to find curtains not in the lounge room this time (but were in the bedroom!). My wife and I decided it was easier to take down a set of curtains in this other room and put them up in our current bedroom rather than having to pack and move our belongings......problem solved but not with much help from staff. In addition, very poor TV (old style) given it is rated 4.5stars for accommodation.
